A Deal

Deals are something we do at every stage in our life. Irrespective of whether its day or night, or wrong or right, we deal, and sometimes even unconsciously. Regardless of all the complexities which hold a possibility of being introduced by the environment, a deal is always mutual. Till the time both sides agree to deal upon materialistic possessions, things seem fine. It is basically like selling something excess that you had to buy something which you felt was deficient. Trouble starts when either or both of sides are dealing on non-materialistic entities. This is a sensitive action, dangerous, and sometimes potentially mammoth.
Consider the act of praying. It is basically dealing. All though most of the believers of prayers would deny prayer as deal, saying it was out of devotion, the returns they expect from god (so called) are nothing but what a businessman would expect out of his investments. The devotee offers sacrifices, fasts, and 'prasad' in return for the well being of his/her family. Now, even the devotees won't deny that the well being of their family members depends upon the monetary status and the availability of source of income. Here, clear aspects of a deal can be seen.
Consider love. Keeping in mind the classical version of love, where it was always between a boy and a girl, we can assign the traits of dealers to both of the participants. The boy, usually more muscular and in-charge of earning a living takes hold of the girl, usually softer and more caring. The girl expects the guy to be useful and loyal to her at all times, while the boy seeks pleasure and soothe from the other end. A defiance in full-filling of responsibilities from either of them, leads to a clash, sometimes deepening to the level of break-ups or even divorce. Hence, love is a serious business of expectations and emotions. It is basically a deal.
No living being, out of consciousness would ever attempt a work that results in nothing. The results need not always be monetary outputs; it could be relaxation, but a result is always expected. And that makes everything a deal.
